The importance of empathy and cross-cultural communication is crucial for providing quality care in a globalized world from a humanistic and integrative perspective. Two nursing professionals share their experiences and concerns and illustrate with their reflection the importance of integration and empathizing to better understand different groups and individuals. Critical moments and stages of life are fundamental for people; understanding their values and beliefs brings us closer to providing holistic and individualized care. Integrating, understanding, and caring from a cross-cultural perspective is the purpose of our teachings for undergraduate nursing students.
